Chef Shin Thompson, previously of Michelin-starred Chicago restaurant Bonsoirée and ramen chain Furious Spoon, debuts a truly over-the-top and incredibly impressive yakinuku destination at the lower floor of the Wilshire Grand Center (the tallest building in LA, which also houses the Intercontinental Hotel). Niku X has multiple ways of approaching well-marbled meat, from an all-encompassing $250 per person tasting menu with tableside grilled meats and raw sashimi to varying sizes of fire-roasted tomahawk chops (prepared a seriously impressive tableside situation). Either way, expect to open up the wallet but get an awe-inspiring dinner in return.
